The unrest broke out on Sunday evening after the administration allegedly denied students the chance to watch the highly anticipated English Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester City.
According to reports, students had requested permission to watch the 90-minute game as part of their weekend entertainment, a common practice in many boys’ schools.
When the administration declined, tempers flared, quickly escalating into full-scale violence. Dormitories and classrooms were set ablaze, with property worth millions of shillings destroyed.
Videos circulating online show thick smoke billowing from school buildings as students rampaged under the cover of darkness after switching off lights in the compound.
This is not the first time the school has made headlines over student unrest. Earlier in July, protests erupted over poorly cooked meals, and in 2023, students rioted, destroying biometric systems, window panes, and vehicles.
The repeated incidents have raised concerns about indiscipline, leadership, and the welfare of learners. Education officials and police have since launched investigations into the latest rampage as parents anxiously await the way forward.
