While speaking at a church service in Nandi county, senator Samson Cherargei said that the top two seats have already been taken and ODM should not try to bargain about being given a chance in the running mate position.
He said that the presidential ticket will be given to president William Ruto and the deputy president slot given to Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
Cherargei could be heard telling the ODM party to be prepared to occupy the smaller seats that remain if they plan to be part of the broad based government after the 2027 elections.
These remarks by Cherargei have raised mixed reactions from Kenyans who have started to debate on the future of the broad based government.
The remarks come just a day after ODM held it's 20 anniversary celebrations with president William Ruto joining them.
The event revealed some worrying cracks in the party as some members are opposed to the broad based government and want it relooked into while other want the union to continue until 2032.
