Wahome Thuku Sends Sonko a Message After His Bodyguards Beat Up His Son-in-Law — Check What He Said

A dramatic incident involving former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his son-in-law has sparked intense public debate. According to reports, Sonko confronted his son-in-law over allegations of assault against his daughter.

However, instead of handling the matter personally, Sonko’s bodyguards took charge and one of them ended up slapping the young man.

Lawyer Wahome Thuku has questioned why Sonko allowed his bodyguards to physically attack his son-in-law instead of addressing the issue himself. He posed a thought-provoking scenario: What would you do if a total stranger even if he is your bodyguard assaulted your son-in-law during a family dispute?

Thuku further argued that allowing bodyguards to intervene in such a personal issue sets a dangerous precedent. It means the son-in-law now lives with the knowledge that Sonko’s bodyguards can attack him anytime there is a disagreement involving Sonko’s daughter.

He also questioned what would happen in the future if the couple’s relationship deteriorates or if a bodyguard oversteps boundaries.

Thuku concluded by saying that such actions undermine the dignity of the marriage and create unnecessary fear and power imbalance within the relationship.
