Wahome Alleges The Only Opposition Leader Who Is Serious About Removing Ruto From Power, Accuses The Rest Of Political Conmanship

Political commentator Wahome Thuku has claimed that Dr Fred Matiang’i is the only opposition figure genuinely committed to unseating President William Samoei Ruto, arguing that most other opposition leaders are merely positioning themselves for post 2027 negotiations rather than real change.

According to the claims, Matiang’i stands out because he already has a clear vision of what he intends to do should he replace Ruto, unlike other opposition figures who, he alleges lack both conviction and a concrete plan.

The commentator insists this assessment is based on personal interactions and in-depth discussions with Matiang’i, which have convinced him that the former Interior CS is driven by a sincere desire to remove the current administration.

In contrast, other prominent opposition leaders are described as political power brokers whose primary interest is not regime change but bargaining power.

The allegation suggests that these leaders are already calculating how they will negotiate for personal and political interests with President Ruto after the 2027 elections, even as they publicly project determination to remove him from office.

The claims further argue that much of the current opposition momentum is fake, aimed at convincing the public and the Kenyan diaspora that there is a serious push to topple the government.

This, it is alleged, explains why earlier political movements that promised massive change have gradually lost steam.

Wahome warns that when President Ruto returns to Mt Kenya in late 2026 and throughout 2027, he may find it easier than expected to regain support, likening the process to picking fish from a drying riverbed.

He concluded by predicting that time will eventually reveal which leaders were serious about change and which ones were merely political conmen positioning themselves for survival in a Ruto led future.
