Kenyans have shared mixed and reactions after lawyer and commentator Wahome Thuku asked the public to name the most abusive politician of 2025. The question was posted online as the year nears its end and quickly attracted dozens of responses.
According to comments shared under the post, several respondents mentioned President William Ruto and his former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua. Many said their choices were based on public statements, political conduct, and perceived treatment of rivals.
One commenter wrote “Kasongo huitana mkabila yet he’s the most tribal” (Kasongo calls others tribal yet he is the most tribal). Another simply replied “Gachagua himself,” suggesting the Gachagua stood out in their view.
Several users accused leaders of using harsh language against opponents. One response described Gachagua as “the lord of vengeance,” while another stated “Rigaaathi Gachagua!!!!!” showing strong emotion.
Other names also appeared in the discussion. Kimani Ichung’wah and Junet Mohamed were mentioned by different users, while one commenter said “Githinji himself,” referring to Ruto.
There were also comments touching on past political history. One response accused President Ruto of “adding ten years to Kalonzo’s 40 years in leadership,” calling it an abuse of facts, and mentioned remarks about Kalonzo Musyoka being called “mtu ya kukaa kwa lami”.
