Latest reports have revealed that 11 people linked to illegal mining of mineral in the country have been arrested.

According to trusted sources, nine of the arrested individuals are foreigners and have been linked to illegal mining across the country.

The individuals are currently in police custody awaiting to be taken to court to answer for their crimes.

The news comes just hours after the country received good news about huge deposits of gold in Ikolomani, Kakamega county.

The gold is estimated to be worth over Sh600 billion and if well used can transform the country's economy.

This move is aimed at curbing illegal mining and exportation of resources to other countries that has seen the country lose millions of money.

Such activities must be stopped now that the country has gold reserves that easily be misused.
