The Kenya Defense Forces have added a new deadly weapon to their armory according to the latest reports.
As seen in many news outlets on Monday, the Kenyan government has acquired the Israel made Spyder Air Defense System.
The system is among the best in the world and has been proven to be effective in the recent attacks on Israel by Iran and Yemen.
Sources have revealed that the defense system costs about Sh3.4 billion and is expected to boost the countries security.
The system will be used to counter aerial threats more especially drones as we are in an era of advanced technology where remote controlled drones are on the rise.
The artillery uses modern advanced radar and missile technology to detect, track and destroy aerial threats as well as low level airborne targets.
Kenyans have given different opinions to the new acquisition by the government. Some are happy that Kenya is advancing its armory to catch up with other countries but some feel like it is a waste of resources given Kenya has no active wars to require such systems.
