Wahome Thuku Reveals The Main Reason Why He Will Never Vote For Ruto

Wahome Thuku has come out to reveal the main reason he would never vote for President William Samoei Ruto, an issue, according to him, that has gone beyond politics and hits at the core of accountability and integrity in leadership.

According to Thuku, he did not vote for Ruto in 2022 and maintains that position ahead of the 2027 general elections. He cited one of the most disturbing shortcomings of the current regime is the inability and unwillingness, to pursue billions of shillings in alleged stolen public funds reportedly ferried using police helicopters from Wilson Airport to the homes of senior government officials, properties linked to the Kenyatta family.

Thuku points to public statements that were previously made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who gave what he described as a detailed, blow-by-blow account of how the money was allegedly looted from the National Treasury, packed into bags, and transported during this tense period while Raila Odinga's presidential petition was being heard at the Supreme Court. The allegations suggested the theft occurred under the supervision of the previous administration.

What angers him the most, he says, is the fact that despite the gravity of the claims and the detail supplied by the former Deputy President, President Ruto never publicly addressed the matter or took visible action. This silence, to him, portends serious questions of either possible complicity or political convenience.

Thuku maintains that nowhere in the world has a deputy been known to incriminate powerful men in grand corruption and the president did absolutely nothing about the same. To him, that failure alone was enough to deny him his vote, adding that Kenya cannot afford to have a leadership that would shy away from confronting corruption at the highest level.
