Weatherman Warns Of Heavy Rains In This Parts of The Country Starting This Week

Residents in several parts of Kenya have been advised to prepare for a week of intermittent rainfall and strong winds, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met). While most regions are expected to remain sunny and dry, the agency highlighted specific counties likely to experience wet and windy conditions.

Counties such as Nairobi, Kiambu, Marsabit, Meru, Makueni, and Machakos are expected to receive showers between Tuesday, December 2, and Saturday, December 6. Turkana and Marsabit counties could also be affected by strong south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s).

The forecast indicates that Nairobi and its neighboring areas will experience sunny daytime conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday, with cloudy nights and afternoon or evening showers continuing through Saturday. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 29°C, while minimum temperatures could drop to 5°C.

Other areas, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, and inland Tana River, are likely to experience scattered rainfall throughout the week, with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 34°C. Coastal counties such as Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale may record daylong showers with maximum temperatures of 33°C and minimums of 23°C.

Residents in western and some central counties—including Kisumu, Siaya, Trans Nzoia, and Nakuru—can expect mostly sunny conditions, although isolated showers could occur from Thursday to Saturday afternoons.
