An ODM official has now issued a stern warning, advising Gachagua to cancel his plans, saying his presence would not be welcomed by Raila’s supporters.
The official stated that many ODM members still feel bitter about Gachagua’s past remarks that appeared to mock Raila’s health before his death.
According to him, such statements left deep wounds among Raila’s loyal followers, and his attempt to visit the grave now could be interpreted as political hypocrisy rather than genuine mourning.
He added that the Odinga family and supporters are still healing, and the period should be one of respect and reflection not political drama.
The warning has stirred debate online, with some Kenyans agreeing that Gachagua should stay away, while others insist that forgiveness should prevail and every leader deserves the chance to pay tribute.
