Caleb Amisi Warns MPs Who Won With State Backing in By-Elections, Check What He Told Them

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has warned MPs who won in the just concluded by-elections on the basis of government machinery. According to Amisi, winning an MP seat with a margin as slim as 300 votes is nothing to celebrate, especially given the political climate ahead of 2027.

Amisi warned that those who are celebrating such narrow victories may be in for a rude shock at the next General Election, emphasizing that by 2027, the dynamics shall have changed, and there shall be no government forces, state influence or coordinated mobilization deployed to help them retain their seats.

He emphasized that candidates must not assume that the same level of assistance will be available in future, adding that the political ground is heavily Wantam, which hints at greater public dissatisfaction that could oust leaders depending on state intervention rather than organic grassroots.

Amisi concluded by telling the newly elected MPs not to say that they were never warned, urging them to reconnect with the people and prepare for a fiercely competitive 2027 contest purely driven by the sentiment of the electorate.
