Senior Lawyer Alleges Why Interview Between CJ Koome And Yvonne Okwara Was Cancelled

A planned Citizen TV interview between Chief Justice Martha Koome and journalist Yvonne Okwara was abruptly cancelled last evening, leaving many Kenyans speculating about what happened.

According to Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, the cancellation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over the topics to be discussed.

Yvonne Okwara is alleged to have intended to question the Chief Justice about allegations of corruption within the Judiciary, a matter of growing public concern.

However, Koome allegedly declined to address that issue and instead preferred that the interview focus only on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

When the two sides failed to agree on the interview’s scope, the session was called off and promotional posters were pulled down from social media.

The move has sparked widespread debate among Kenyans, with many questioning why the Chief Justice would avoid addressing matters of accountability in the Judiciary, especially at a time when public confidence in the institution is being tested.
