Enough Is Enough - Uhuru Warns His Critics As He Reveals What He Will Do If They Go After Him

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a firm warning to his critics, making it clear that while he prefers restraint, he will not hesitate to respond if pushed too far.

Speaking during the burial of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, Uhuru said he has consciously chosen to remain calm and disciplined despite persistent attacks directed at him since leaving office. He emphasized that silence should not be mistaken for weakness.

“Nimestaafu ila mtu asiniletee noma,” Uhuru said, noting that although he is retired, he will defend himself if provoked. He added that he is closely watching those who continue to criticize or target him, cautioning that respect must be mutual.

He further warned that inciting others to attack him would have consequences. Uhuru said anyone who chooses to provoke him should be prepared for a response, underlining that self defense is a right he will exercise if necessary.

Uhuru’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions, with some leaders and commentators increasingly dragging former presidents into current political battles. His statement appears aimed at drawing a clear line between peaceful retirement and sustained political harassment.

The comments have sparked wide debate, with supporters applauding his calm but firm tone, while critics argue that former leaders should stay completely out of political exchanges.
