Popular Kenyan activist Maverick Aoko has stirred massive reactions online after she made an emotional announcement of her pregnancy, following months of public speculation and hurtful allegations about her fertility.
In her rather candid and deeply personal post, she revealed that lately she experiences sharp mood swings, episodes of crying, anger, and then suddenly bursting into laughter.
She mentioned she now understands why, and thus suggested the pregnancy had begun to affect her emotionally even before she confirmed it.
Through the post, the activist addressed long-standing rumors that had circulated about her, saying critics had previously labeled her barren, while others claimed she had undergone an abortion.
She dismissed the claims with a bold statement, writing, "Mungu hakuli Kayole," implying God does not fail or forget His people, regardless of their background.
She went on to express her relief, pride, and defiance as she declared that she is expecting a baby.
Aoko even went further to share a photo of the pregnancy test kit showing the prove that she was really expecting.
Her revelation has attracted overwhelming support from her followers, many praising her strength and resilience in the face of public scrutiny. Many commended her for choosing to speak openly about an issue often shrouded in stigma.
It also stirred conversations on the pressure women feel about their fertility, especially public figures and how barrenness claims not rooted in fact are damaging.
