Wahome Thuku Alleges What He Noticed When Oscar Sudi Was Giving Out Christmas Gifts

Political commentator Wahome Thuku has weighed in on the viral images of Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi distributing Christmas gifts to his constituents, praising the gesture while also pointing out a deeper message hidden in the faces of the beneficiaries.

According to Thuku, Sudi's act of giving directly to the people captures the true mood of the country.

He noted that while the official duties of an MP revolve around legislation, representation and oversight, the reality on the ground often pushes leaders to take up more direct, humanitarian roles.

Thuku called on critics to closely look at the images of the mothers and young people standing in line for the Christmas packages.

To him, their expressions reveal the real state of the nation: a population struggling, desperate and far from the prosperity the country longs for.

He said those faces tell a story of how distant Kenya remains from achieving the economic progress often compared to places like Singapore.

He said that these long queues serve as tough reality checks on how wide the gap is between political promises and lived realities for many citizens.

While commending Sudi for stepping in to assist during the festive season, Thuku emphasized that the deeper problem lies in the economic hardships pushing people to depend on handouts to survive.
