KDF Soldier And His Brother Kill Their Younger Brother Over A Land Dispute, Surrender Themselves To Police

Police in kakamega county have arrested two brothers after they allegedly killed their younger sibling during a violent dispute over family land in Emakhusi village.

The incident involved three brothers who reportedly engaged in a heated argument that later turned physical.

According to police reports, the confrontation escalated when two of the brothers turned against their younger brother, Caleb Manyonje, aged 27. He was beaten severely during the fight and sustained fatal injuries.

Residents who heard the commotion alerted authorities, but by the time officers arrived, Manyonje had already succumbed to his injuries.

Police found the deceased's body lying outside his house. He had visible injuries on his head and hands, and both legs were fractured. A wooden stick stained with blood was recovered at the scene and is believed to have been used in the attack.

The suspects later surrendered themselves at Shikoti police post, where they were taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that one of the suspects is a serving soldier attached to the Nanyuki air base.

Authorities have expressed concern over the rising number of murder cases in rural areas.

Police noted that many of these incidents are linked to unresolved land disputes within families, while others stem from love triangle conflicts. They have urged families to seek peaceful ways of resolving disagreements to prevent loss of life.
