Lawyer Wahome Thuku has come out to advise police officers on how to behave while carrying out their duties.

His advice comes after a police officer who shot a civilian in Karatina town was arrested and arraigned in court.

The incident was captured on CCTV providing all the evidence needed to prosecute him.

Wahome said this is the end of the officer's life because he will now lose his job and be sent to prison.

He told police officers to be very careful while carrying out their duties because when consequences come they will be alone.

He noted that police officers usually incite each other to do something but when they are caught they are charged individually.

Cases of police brutality have been common in recent years and many police officers have found themselves in trouble for it.

It is time that the police weigh on their actions and learn to serve the people without having to use force which may land them in trouble.
