According to police reports, 32-year-old Enock Obwaya allegedly attacked his father, 80-year-old James Obwaya, during a domestic altercation.
Witnesses say Enock struck his father multiple times on the head with a club as his mother tried desperately to intervene. Her cries for help went unanswered, and James collapsed with fatal injuries.
Investigations reveal that Enock had only been released on bail two days earlier after facing assault charges at the Ogembo Law Courts. His father was a key witness in that case, and authorities suspect resentment over the matter may have driven him to violence.
Angry villagers descended on Enock shortly after the attack, lynching him on the spot. Local leaders and residents expressed concern, noting that bitterness and unresolved disputes have increasingly led to such deadly family confrontations in the region.
Police have since launched investigations, warning against mob justice while also urging residents to resolve disputes through lawful means.
